Founded by J.J. Kokesh, Kokesh Plumbing began as a tin shop, making and repairing pots, pans, boilers and manufacturing guttering, spouting and metal roofs. He originally did a big business in making shipping cans for gold fish. During the horse and buggy days, the elder Kokesh became interested in electricity, but not until after he invented and patented an acetylene generator for lightning purposes with the use of carbide. With the advent of electricity, J.J Kokesh expanded his tin shop into the plumbing operation, and included electrical wiring in his work. In 1930 at the age of 91, Mr. Kokesh took his son Ed as his partner. His legacy continues today with Lawrence Kokesh and son Joe following his footsteps.
